Ariel Univer is the head trainer and owner of Blue Feather Farm. She specializes in teaching and training in the Hunters, Jumpers, and Equitation, but also has had training through first level dressage and English pleasure riding. Ariel attended the University of Findlay's English Equestrian program, and has been teaching and riding professionally since 2004. Ariel's teaching techniques are focused on creating well rounded equestrians, basing her lesson program on a mix of classic riding techniques as well as modern training and teaching philosophies. She pulls training methods from all disciplines of riding; Her lesson students enjoy learning aspects of western and dressage as preparation for jumping careers, producing riders with a solid educated base and foundation for success. No steps are skipped! The importance of educating students in not only riding but complete horse care is essential for the future of this amazing sport. Ariel has studied the riding methods of George Morris, ridden in clinics with Kevin Babington and numerous other well known equestrian professionals. Her program is based upon learning all aspects of equestrianism in a fun, safe, and relaxed atmosphere. Every rider will have a training program specially designed to meet their personal riding goals.
Blue Feather Farm's very own working student, Kayla, is always around the barn and willing to lend a skilled hand. She has been exelling as a talented "trainer in training", and leads as an excellent example to my other students. She started out as a weekly lesson student and has worked her way up to becomming Ariel's assistant. From helping young riders with tacking and grooming, all the way to prepping horses at horse shows, she's an incredibly valuable member of our team and we are lucky to have her.
Blue Feather Farm attends regular NIHJA competitions, as well as Open Shows and Schooling Shows. Our approach to horse showing is based on teamwork and proper sportsmanship. Horse shows are not a required part of the lesson program, but encouraged to all riders looking to showcase the skills learned during lessons. Showing is a great way to further your riding career, and the BFF show team consists of all ages and levels of riders.
